303
I had the sand at my feet, the fire at my fingertips
in the morning the dew kissed my cheeks as I woke
drew me to the chilly sunrise as though you'd spoke
the waves tore at the pebbly sand beneath my boots
and I knew you could be there, too
to watch the red moon draw out the red sun
reverence of the home in my rejuvenating heart
seeing you that day I realized what I'd been searching for
leaving you tomorrow I'm happily incomplete forever more
you glow with the same spark I first liked about you
before any of us suspected who we really were
tonight I imagine I could tell you all the words I've suppressed
tonight the embers of my thoughts have coalesced
in the clouds below the mists relive our shared moments old and new
I'm content on shore watching our sails glide from view
